In December 2017 and in January 2018 the center “Uzel” and the Educational Center “AuroraStar”, with the support of the UN Democracy Fund, held seminars “My future profession. Self-employment as an alternative to employment”.
The pupils of the senior classes of the Begoml boarding school, Osipovichi state boarding school for children with violations of the musculoskeletal system functions and Vasilishkivsky boarding school for children with peculiarities of psychophysical development, as well as social workers of the Workshops for people with mental and physical disabilities of the Orthodox Parish of Mother of God Icon “Joy of all the Disconsolate” took part in the seminars.
The participants took part in numerous motivational trainings and goal-setting exercises conducted by Natalia Nemkevich, a trainer, psychologist, and a member of the European Psychodrama Association. The lawyer of the Center “Uzel” Tatyana Klimenko told the participants about different forms of self-employment and about the organization of a private business. Self-employment was offered to future graduates of educational and social institutions as a possible alternative to employment.
Elena Falevich, the head of the department of scientific and methodological support of general secondary education in institutions for children with violations of the musculoskeletal system functions made a review of educational institutions with barrier-free infrastructure and specialized training programs for students with disabilities.
Motivational meetings with entrepreneurs with disabilities, who graduated from educational and social institutions and are successful in their profession, were organized for children with disabilities.
